Teaching and Care Volunteering in Cambodia - from just £300 - 100% non profit

Programme facts and Information
You will be working within the Atvea community and you will be well supported by local staff. The main project is to provide an education in English language to the local community - currently over 200 students attend classes.
As well as this volunteers will also spend time within our day nursery (mornings) where we support families via the provision of nursery care, thus allowing the parents to work and the older kids to go to school.
We'd also encourage volunteers to play an active role in the community, attending and participating in our sports, hygiene and drama programmes.

Don't just take our word for it Cambodia – Kath’s Story.
Just spent 2 amazing weeks in Siem Reap working in the school on the Atvea project. The work VPO is doing on the project is inspirational. There are so many needs being met in on such a grass roots level, education, medical, building; it makes it so worthwhile to see the impact and hope that practical help makes in the everyday lives of the children and the families in the surrounding villages.
Does this work make any difference?
The mission of the project is to break the cycle of poverty by giving the children the opportunity to learn English thus enabling them the chance of a better future.
The rewards for this placement are truly immeasurable and an experience neither you nor the children will ever forget. You don’t need to be a teacher but you do need to want to see change!
Apart from enabling these children a chance of a future away from abuse ,poverty, and begging. Your presence enables us to continue our work and develop our projects to help more children and families. We can now offer free education to the poor children in the communities that have no access to education otherwise, because of people like you who take an interest and care enough to do something to help
It is our belief that a balanced Khmer and Western education and social interaction is key for the children’s development.
